As a Staff Systems Engineer, DA HPC, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and optimizing Micron’s storage and Linux environments. You will work closely with global HPC teams, providing technical guidance, resolving performance issues, and implementing innovative storage solutions. This role involves incident management, project execution, and continuous system improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily technology direction in storage and Linux environments.
- Monitor storage infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance tuning.
- Execute storage management tasks, deploy new storage devices, and support engineering teams.
- Develop monitoring tools and forecast potential issues to ensure system reliability.
- Evaluate and implement new storage technologies and maintain architectural consistency.
- Collaborate with teams specializing in Linux, LSF, and HPC technologies.
- Prepare detailed documentation for all environment changes and innovative technology deployments.
- Suggest system or architectural improvements to enhance performance, scalability, and high availability.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience with enterprise-grade NetApp and Isilon storage clusters.
- Strong understanding of storage technologies, distributed file systems, and architecture.
- Experience in backup, data recovery strategies, and cloud-based storage systems.
- Advanced Linux administration skills and familiarity with VMware technologies.
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in semiconductor industry and HPC environments is an asset.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Education
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical fields, or equivalent work experience.
