Nike Hiring Software Engineer I About the Role
As a Software Engineer I, you’ll be a key part of Nike’s digital transformation, building next-generation solutions that power its Paid Media and digital strategies. This role demands strong problem-solving abilities, data engineering skills, and a deep understanding of cloud technologies. You will work with global engineering, product, and program teams to develop scalable, high-performance systems that enhance Nike’s data ecosystem and advertising operations.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent education and experience.
0–2 years of experience in data engineering using Python or Java, and technologies such as Databricks, Hive, Spark, EMR, and SQL.
Strong background in data modeling, ETL development, and real-time data streaming.
Understanding of data management principles and data storage systems.
Experience in microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and domain-driven design.
Familiarity with AWS cloud services like EC2, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and Kafka.
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and automated testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha).
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with both technical and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Develop: Build, test, and maintain efficient, high-throughput data pipelines that power Nike’s digital advertising operations.
Collaborate: Work with cross-functional teams to define requirements, review technical specifications, and deliver robust software solutions.
Code & Review: Develop and review code, ensuring best practices, scalability, and maintainability.
Database Management: Design and manage large-scale databases for optimized data storage and retrieval.
Testing & QA: Implement automated testing frameworks for unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code reliability.
Performance Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks and enhance system responsiveness across the stack.
CI/CD Integration: Maintain and improve continuous integration and deployment pipelines for seamless software delivery.
Agile Practices: Participate in agile ceremonies like sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, contributing to continuous improvement.
Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation to support ongoing development and operational excellence.
